I'm New Here

Welcome to Redeemer Hill Church!

And welcome to the new Redeemer Hill website. We are a group of people who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and are continuously experiencing the real power of the Gospel as it permeates our lives. We love this city and are a people called to be apart of a radical resurgence in greater Hartford to seek its multifaceted restoration.

You are very welcome to come check out what we're doing in the city. We definitely encourage you to get connected and build with us in community to show Life to this city. We're striving to create a culture of missional lovers of Christ, rather than be a consumeristic cluster of Christians.

We've put together some frequently asked questions to help you get a better understanding of what RHC is like.

When are your services?

Our services are every Sunday at 10am. We currently meet at The Lyceum right off Capital Ave and behind Billings Forge @ 227 Lawrence Street. There is plenty of free parking in The Lyceum parking lot. We started our weekly services in the spring of 2011, culminating with our launch on Easter Sunday in April of 2011 and fall kick off in September.

What do I have to wear when I come to church?

At Redeemer Hill, you're welcome to wear whatever you're comfortable with. There is no set dress code, although the attire is more on the casual side. Just be you.

Will I be singled-out if I'm new?

Not at all. Feel free to jump in comfortably; as a church plant -- we're ALL relatively new.

Why is the church in Hartford?

We love the city and want to be part of Connecticut's Capital. We envision the church loving and caring for the city and for the people who live and work here. We are not here to condemn but to love and live out the teachings of Jesus by the power of his gospel.

What will the worship gathering be like?

Redeemer Hill has always been a place where we keep it very simple. It's relaxed but focused. We don't need to be flashy or put on big productions for people to meet God. We believe that Jesus is enough. We follow a basic pattern of meeting together that is traced back to the early Church. We teach from the Bible. We pray, we sing, we even have silence to help us reflect. And we respond by taking communion together. The goal through it all is to love God and know him better by making God's unchanging truth accessible without watering it down.

Can I invite my friends?

Please do. We seek to be a welcoming environment for people who are curious about Christianity or who are seeking to belong to a community of believers.

Are you just trying to "convert people"?

On the contrary, we acknowledge that we can't convert anyone. We believe only God is responsible for something as supernatural as that. Although we are a community of passionate men and women who have been radically changed and redeemed by the power of the Gospel. By the very nature of love, we seek the ultimate best for all; and so we call not just the city but the whole world to turn to the Redeemer— to Jesus Christ.

What about my kids?

Redeemer Hill is a family-friendly environment. We believe that children are a blessing from God and should be taught about God in a fun learning environment. Children are welcome at RHC services!
