  3. Man Sins / God Judges / God Chooses and Promises
    1. Genesis 9:9-17 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him, 9 “Behold, I establish my covenant with you and your offspring after you, 10 and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark; it is for every beast of the earth. 11 I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” 12  And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: 13 I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.” 
      1. Noah was the Covenant mediator
      2. Blessings - Life / Promise not to flood the earth again
      3. Conditions - Don’t drink blood of animals, uphold the sanctity of human life, don’t murder and protect all human life.
      4. Sign - Rainbow
      5. Form - Noah and extended family
    2. Abrhamic Covenant / Calling of Abraham
    3. Genesis 17:1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless, 2 that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly.” 3 Then Abram fell on his face. And God said to him, 4 “Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations.

      1. Covenant Mediator - Abraham
      2. Blessings - land, a son, a nation that would bring forth Jesus Christ
      3. Conditions - Obedience to God
      4. Sign - internal faith to walk and trust God / external circumcision
      5. Form -  family and nation
  4. Mosaic Covenant
    1. Exodus (all of it)
      1. Covenant Mediator - Moses
      2. Blessings - redemption from slavery/bondage, freedom to worship God
      3. Conditions - obedience to God’s law (10 commandments), rejection of idolatry 
      4. Sign - internal faith/ external passover
      5. Form - Holy nation and priests.  Mission was to be God’s people as an example and invitation to worship the one true God.
  5. Davidic Covenant
    1. 2 Samuel 7:8-16
      1. Covenant Mediator - King David
      2. Blessings - the coming of a king and kingdom that was rule and reign forever
      3. Conditions - Worship of God present in the Temple by the people of Israel
      4. Sign - faith in God’s promises to establish a king and kingdom / external the throne 
      5. Form - God’s people (Israel) will bring about a new kingdom/eternal 
    2. New Covenant
      1. Covenant Mediator: Jesus
      2. Blessings: Salvation from Satan, sin and death, Life with God forever
      3. Conditions: Repent, have faith, obey
      4. Sign - Christ’s life, death, resurrection ascension (Second Coming), Restoration
      5. Form - a new Israel (Spiritual) the church saved through Christ and powered by the Spirit.
    3. Jesus is the better Noah, Abraham, Moses and David
    4. Hebrews 8:6 - 9:28
